Protect the Fuel System From the Effects of Ethanol-Blended Gasoline.

BG Ethanol Fuel System Defender® is formulated to inhibit the oxidation process that can cause ethanol-containing gasoline to degrade while helping keep intake manifolds, intake ports, intake valves, fuel injectors and combustion chambers cleaner.

Ethanol-blended gasoline can absorb moisture and contribute to corrosion, deposits and fuel-quality changes. BG designed PN 213 to help protect against those effects while stabilizing fuel.

BG states that it is especially effective for E10, E15 and E85, is safe for catalytic converters and oxygen sensors, and can help restore fuel economy.

Important: This treatment does not correct contaminated fuel, phase separation or mechanical fuel-system damage. Vehicles with severe drivability problems, stale fuel or water contamination may require diagnosis and additional service.
PRIMARY BENEFITS

Four Core Benefits of BG Ethanol Fuel System Defender®

Designed to help preserve fuel quality and protect the fuel system from common ethanol-related problems.

01

Prevents Fuel Degradation

Helps inhibit the oxidation process that causes ethanol-containing gasoline to break down and lose stability over time.

02

Stabilizes Fuel

Acts as an effective fuel stabilizer to help maintain gasoline quality between fill-ups and during normal vehicle use.

03

Helps Prevent Corrosion

Provides corrosion protection for metal fuel-system components exposed to ethanol-containing gasoline.

04

Effective With E10, E15, E85 & Other Ethanol Blends

BG specifically recommends the treatment for ethanol-blended gasoline, including common E10 and E15 fuels as well as higher-ethanol E85 blends.

WHY ETHANOL NEEDS ATTENTION

Ethanol Can Change How Gasoline Behaves Over Time.

Ethanol has useful combustion properties, but it can also attract moisture and contribute to oxidation, corrosion and fuel instability.

01

Fuel Oxidation

BG states that PN 213 inhibits the free-radical oxidation mechanism that contributes to ethanol-containing gasoline degradation.

02

Moisture & Corrosion

Ethanol-containing fuel can hold moisture, and that combination can promote corrosion in metal fuel-system components.

03

Deposit Formation

Degraded fuel can contribute to deposits in injectors, intake areas and combustion chambers that affect performance and emissions.

04

Changing Fuel Blends

BG specifically positions Ethanol Fuel System Defender for E10, E15, E85 and other ethanol-blended fuels.

PROFESSIONAL USE

How BG Ethanol Fuel System Defender® Is Used

BG recommends adding the treatment directly to the fuel tank every 3,000–5,000 miles, with dosage based on fuel-tank capacity.

01

Confirm Fuel Type & Tank Capacity

We verify the vehicle uses gasoline or an appropriate ethanol blend and determine the correct dosage for the fuel-tank size.

02

Add the Correct Amount

BG dosage ranges from 50 mL for tanks up to 3 gallons to the full 11 fl. oz. bottle for tanks above 10 gallons.

03

Treat a Full Fuel Tank

BG recommends adding Ethanol Fuel System Defender to a full fuel tank for best results.

04

Repeat at the Recommended Interval

BG currently recommends use every 3,000–5,000 miles to maintain ongoing protection against ethanol-related fuel degradation.

Professional-use product: BG Products states that excessive use or misuse should be avoided and the product should be applied according to published directions.
WHO MAY BENEFIT

When Ethanol Fuel System Defender® May Be Worth Discussing.

01

Drivers Using E10 or E15

Most modern gasoline vehicles encounter ethanol-blended fuel regularly, making routine stabilization and corrosion protection relevant.

02

Flex-Fuel Vehicles Using E85

BG specifically lists E85 among the ethanol blends for which the product is especially effective.

03

Vehicles Driven Infrequently

Fuel stabilization can help when gasoline remains in the tank longer between fill-ups.

04

Preventive Fuel-System Maintenance

Drivers seeking ongoing protection against ethanol-related deposits, oxidation and corrosion can use it on BG's recommended interval.

DEFENDER + COMPLETE FUEL-SYSTEM CARE

Fuel Stabilization and Deep Cleaning Serve Different Purposes.

BG Ethanol Fuel System Defender focuses on preventing fuel degradation, stabilizing ethanol-containing gasoline and helping control corrosion and deposit formation.

A professional BG fuel-system cleaning service is intended to remove heavier existing deposits. Which approach makes sense depends on the vehicle's maintenance history and current symptoms.

BG PROTECTION PLAN

PN 213 Can Be Part of a Qualifying Engine & Fuel Service.

DEFENDERPN 213

BG currently lists PN 213 as one of the approved fuel products that can be paired with BG Advanced Formula MOA® PN 115 in a qualifying Engine & Fuel Service for gasoline and hybrid vehicles.

The current plan lists a 10,000-mile service interval for that combined service with maximum coverage of $6,000 under Plan 1 and $3,000 under Plan 2.

Adding Ethanol Fuel System Defender by itself does not automatically create Lifetime BG Protection Plan® coverage. Eligibility depends on the complete qualifying service, vehicle age and mileage, service history, repeat intervals and current BG program terms.
