Plastic tanks, metal tanks, crimps, seams, fittings, and drain points are checked for cracks, separation, leakage, and pressure loss.
Radiator Cap
The pressure cap is evaluated for seal damage, improper pressure control, coolant loss, and failure to maintain the correct cooling-system pressure.

Finding the Source Before Replacing Components

A Radiator Can Fail Without Leaking
Rust, scale, contaminated coolant, sealant residue, corrosion, and internal deposits may restrict coolant flow through the radiator. External fin blockage may also reduce airflow. A restricted radiator may cause overheating even when no coolant leak is visible.

Minor Related Repair
Some concerns may be corrected by replacing a hose, clamp, pressure cap, sensor, connector, or cooling-fan component.

Continuing to Drive an Overheating Vehicle Can Cause Major Damage
Severe overheating may warp cylinder heads, damage head gaskets, weaken seals, contaminate engine oil, and cause internal engine failure. If the temperature gauge enters the hot range or steam is visible, safely stop the vehicle and arrange inspection rather than continuing to drive.

Overheating Does Not Always Mean the Radiator Is the Only Problem
Water Pump or Thermostat
A weak water pump or stuck thermostat may restrict coolant flow and cause overheating even when the radiator is not leaking.
Cooling Fan or Electrical Fault
Failed fan motors, relays, fuses, sensors, wiring, or control modules may cause temperature to rise at idle or low speeds.
